Maurice Hooker and Jose Ramirez crossed paths during their open workout.

Maurice Hooker will meet Jose Ramirez in a junior welterweight unification bout Saturday. The pair of champions ran into each other after an open workout, and seemed like anything else but opponents.

“He’s a cool guy.” Hooker said to the media of Ramirez.

They stood beside each other in a friendly manner and shook hands after. Even trainer Robert Garcia embraced and laughed with a member of Hooker’s team.

Hooker (26-1-3, 17KOs) will put his WBO title on the line, while WBC champion Ramirez (25-0, 17KOs) seeks to remain undefeated.
